3D Sketch.. Screwy Robot-thing

A quick 3D sketch just to get my muscles pumping..

Friends idea: Art Workout - Goal is to try and post something 3-5 times a week(or everyday) that would only take an hour-ish to create.

I'm going out of the country next week, but I'll do my best to keep up with it.

120 Broadway - Equitable Building progress

Been insanely busy past couple of weeks, and I'm working on some personal pieces that I'm really excited about. However, won't be posting them till they are finished and polished ^_^.

But! I've been working on rebuilding the financial district for the company I'm with. I have to rebuild it in a post-explosion environment. Lots of research and structural drawing came in to play to help me get some close-to-near accurate sizes to scale. Thank you Mr. Burghy's Structural Drawing Class.

Here is some of my progress, got lots to do.. but it's fun to see it start to come together.

I put a photo of the actual 120 Broadway Equitable building next to the model in progress for comparison. It's one of the many many references I grabbed from the web.

Sketch - Oink Oink

Playing around with Zbrush..

Environment progress

This is an environment I'm doing for the company I'm freelancing for.

For those who are curious..

The floating orby things are protecting something inside, that's all I can say

'Nuff with the old updates

Ok, starting something new. Here is todays progress.

Wonder what it's going to be?

If you guessed a bust of someone.. then you're close.

Old Update: Molly

Coming from the same short film project as the Sandwich Monster, here is another character designed by Margaret Hardy

Old Update: Sandwich Monster

This is a character I modeled for a short film I was working on.

The character was designed by the awesomely talented Margaret Hardy

Old Update: Hybrid

Here I was given two environments that I did not model or texture..

I had to take the two environments and put them together and add a sphere orb that protects those inside the orb..

Following me so far? Great ^_^

Here is the final result. I lit the scene, created the shaders, and modeled the sphere in the middle..

This is the thing I modeled. It was fun making it, felt like a magician..

Old Update: Cityscape cont.

So, here I had to bring back the old city from before. I expanded the city out to the distance and changed the lighting.

Again, I didn't model the tall skyscrapers. Just the surrounding buildings in the city and the blimp ^_^.

Here are some quick turn arounds of the blimp

Old Update: Fun Lighting

This one was fun to do.

In this image, I only did the lighting and created the shaders used by the textures. I'm not quite sure who did the models and texturing. I just use what is given to me. But who ever modeled it did a nice job.

Old Update: Little Boy

For those who of you haven't checked out my portfolio, here's another model I did a while ago designed by Tyler Parkinson .

Old Update: City

Pulling out another one:

This is a Cityscape I modeled and lit (did the clouds and fog as well)

I did everything except the giant skyscrapers. Those were models given to me to place in the scene. So I modeled around them.

Did everything in this scene

Same scene with the skyscrapers. Didn't model the skyscrapers

Made everything in this image

Old Update: Kitchen

Time I get in to the habit of using Blogger more often :).

I'm going to slowly go through my computer and dig out old works as well as start posting new stuff.

Here's a Kitchen environment I modeled and lit many moons ago.

Cuberts

My room mate Sam Corea use to model these little "Cubert" figures out of clay freshman year.

I got nostalgic and did a CG render of his Cuberts for him..
